Princess Mediterranean Cruise

princess_logoReturning to the Europe and Mediterranean region are Ruby Princess – named one of 2009’s Best New Cruise Ships by Travel & Leisure – Crown Princess and Grand Princess — plus the newly renovated Star Princess, sailing all three regions including the new 12-day Mediterranean Odyssey.

Like Holland America, Princess also frequently mix a bit of the Eastern Mediterranean cruises with the Western. Their small ships Ocean and Pacific Princess, carrying just 680 mostly adult guests, sail to lesser-visited destinations and offer all the amenities of a large ship as well as a wonderful sense of camaraderie.

Seabourn

seabournSeabourn markets its ships as “The Yachts of Seabourn” and the ultra-luxury ships do in fact feel like private yachts — or, more aptly, private clubs. The 208-passenger sister ships Seabourn Legend, Seabourn Pride and Seabourn Spirit are nearly identical, and all create an intimate environment where wealthy passengers can unwind with their peers, enjoy fine cuisine and solicitous service, and visit exotic ports around the world.

New-build Seabourn Odyssey, which debuted in June 2009, is three times larger than its fleetmates, yet carries only double the passengers. Beyond that, 90 percent of all suites on the all-suite ship have verandas. Two sister ships, Seabourn Sojourn and the as-yet-unnamed third ship, will launch in summer 2010 and summer 2011.

MSC Cruises

mscMediterranean Shipping Company’s (MSC) Cruises may be a relatively new entrant in cruising’s leisure travel niche (Its cruise arm was formed in 1987), but the Geneva-based firm is one of the world’s biggest players in international shipping. MSC Cruises’ main playground is, of course, the Mediterranean, and itineraries include stops in Italy, Greece, Malta, Canary Islands, Croatia, Portugal, Morocco, Spain, Istanbul and even the Ukraine.

Whether new ship or old, MSC Cruises emphasizes a strongly Italian-influenced ambience. While MSC cruises have pretty cheap cruise fares, the ships offer a fairly unprecedented range of services and amenities that cost extra, such as a la carte menus, fees for port shuttles and more.

easyCruise

eC-logo-dot-comeasyCruise is the specialist in value for money Greece cruise, Greek Islands Cruise and Turkey cruise holidays.

Passengers pay a low base fare, which includes a cabin, limited “half board” meal plan (breakfast and lunch or dinner) and housekeeping services.

Their Greek cruises sail to the jewels of the Aegean, the Greek islands and Turkey, so you have the opportunity to visit wonderful places and marvel at Aegean legends in just a few days.

Island hopping destinations include Crete, Patmos, Mykonos, Piraeus, Rhodes, Santorini and Kusadasi.
